| This week Rachel turned 17 months old. So, we decided to celebrate tonight and go out for a nice dinner. We went to the Outback Steakhouse since we haven't been there for a while. It's a great place to eat and the food is out of this world. I got the steak and shrimp and usual and my hubby got the T-bone. The waitress was really nice and brought Rachel a nice dinner for her bithday with fries and a small steak. We had to cut the steak into real small pieces and Rachel just loved it. Before we left, the waitress also took some nice pictures with all three of us. Overall, it was a fantastic night and we all had a great time, especially Rachel. |
It's that time of year again when a lot of teenagers getting ready for their prom. My friend has a daughter, Kate, who has her senior prom coming up very soon. My friend was planning on making her a custom dress for her prom. Unfortunately, my friend has been sick with the flu for over a week and hasn't been able to finish the dress. After my friend told me how worried and upset she was because she felt like she let Kate down. I asked her what I could do to help out. She asked if I could take Kate our shopping since she was still sick, but I said that would be hard with Rachel and my hubby is real busy with his work and some other things going on. Then, I talked to my sister-in-law because she had to buy a dress for her daughter's prom last year. She said the best place she found was on the internet at a website called
promgirl.net. So, I went to the website and immediately realized what she was talking about. They have the most unbelievable selection of prom dresses I have even seen. I asked my friend to email me a picture of the prom dress she was making, then I could try to find something similar. There were a lot of prom dresses that I really liked, but I had to remind myself I was shopping for someone else and only offering prom advice on what I thought would be good options for Kate's prom wardrobe, including prom shoes. After looking through a lot of dresses, I came up with a couple dresses and matching shoes that I thought would be closest to what she was looking for and what she would look good wearing to her senior prom. I went over to their house and we reviewed what options I came up with and they were very interested in one specific design. Kate said this was as almost as good as what her mother was making for her. I think she liked it a lot more, but Kate was trying to be nice so she would not hurt her mother's feelings. She is a very kind and thoughtful girl, that is one of the many reasons I wanted to help her find a dress she would be happy and excited to wear. The next day, Kate called me and told me they decided to order the dress we looked at the day before. Then, she confided in me she actually liked it more than her mother's design, but we decided to keep that thought between us. I was real happy to help Kate and my friend. I know they would do the same for me given a similar situation.
